My Story: Education and Experience
In 2012 NP Ellen graduated from Washington College with a bachelors degree in Psychology. The following year, she completed her bachelors degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. Upon graduating, her professional nursing career began in an Adult ICU, where she worked until 2015, which is when she began travel nursing. She spent several months working in an ICU in Texas, when a nursing opportunity in California was presented to her. In 2016 she moved to California to continue working as an intensive care nurse. Shortly after moving to the west coast, she accepted a job offer from a medical spa to experience a new type of nursing while continuing to work in the hospital. The rest is history!

Ellen will tell you that she values the time she spent as an ICU nurse immensely because those years taught her the importance of lifelong health maintenance. She largely credits her hands on ICU experience for her intimate understanding of chronic disease processes. She still remembers with fondness the years of hospital experience that inspired her to become a Nurse Practitioner:

"Seeing patient after patient struggle with conditions that are completely, 100% preventable is what inspired me to become an NP (Nurse Practitioner). I wished I could have gotten to these patients sooner, I wished I could be the healthcare provider that patients see before it's too late, before irreversible damage occurs so we can prevent that together."

Since devoting herself full-time to wellness and aesthetic medicine, Ellen has held several jobs treating patients and has even became a trainer for multiple companies. She currently trains new aesthetic injectors on neurotoxin and dermal filler techniques for the pharmaceutical comapny, Prollenium, the medical aesthetic certification company The Esthetic Skin Institute, and the education and professional mentorship company, InjectAbility Institute. Ellen loves being a trainer because those opportunities allow her to collaborate with like-minded professionals in the wellness space, which she loves to do.
Why Wellness Medicine?
Over the past 10 years I have worked in hospitals and clinics throughout the country caring for patients suffering with long-term consequences of a whole lifetime of improper health management. The years I spent with these patients taught me the importance of prevention in healthcare and the importance of maintaining healthy habits throughout our entire lives.

I want to make health maintenance easy and sustainable for my patients. I've chosen to offer weight loss and hormone therapy as my primary wellness services because these services provide simple and extremely effective means to being our healthiest selves and to feeling our absolute best. With the help of medically guided weight loss and hormone therapy (and sometimes both), my patients are regaining control of their health and preventing serious health struggles down the road. It is truly inspiring to watch!
The benefits to seeing a wellness medical provider are countless. I am excited and proud to practice wellness medicine because I am not bound by the constraints imposed on large hospital systems or by insurance companies. I am free to diagnose and treat as I see fit for my patients. This individualized approach means that each patient gets a treatment plan tailored to their own personal goals and needs.
